This page is for the host. Only one device is needed! The host sets up the game, then passes the phone around so each player can privately see their role and secret word.
Yes! We support 3 to 15 players. For the best experience with more than 10 people, we recommend splitting into two separate games.
Absolutely. You can adjust the player count using the +/- buttons anytime before starting the game. To change it after the game has started, you'll need to return to this setup page.
To keep roles balanced, the host will need to end the current game and return to the setup page to generate a new one. Mid-game adjustments are not supported.
It simplifies the setup! Just enter the number of players, and the system will automatically balance the game settings—perfect for beginners who want to start quickly.
This is a shortcut for players who aren't together. It leads to the Online Mode setup, where everyone can join from their own devices.
Classic mode is the standard Civilian vs. Imposter game. Double Agent mode adds a twist: a 'Blank' player who knows nothing! This is hilarious for parties as they try to blend in without even seeing a word.
Turn on 'Anonymous Imposters' to make it harder for the bad guys. Even if you have multiple imposters, they won't know who else is on their team. Great for larger groups!
A good rule of thumb is 1 imposter for every 4-5 players. For a 6-player game, 1 imposter is perfect. For 10 players, try 2. The key is to make it challenging but not impossible for the imposter to hide.
Yes! We generate a unique role and secret word for every player. The host simply passes the phone around, letting each player tap the screen to reveal their identity—just make sure no one else is peeking! Once everyone has their role, the host can put the phone aside and manage the game. (Of course, the host can check the screen anytime to see everyone's roles.)
We feature over 20+ categories across different difficulty levels, each packed with multiple word pairs. Hosts can pick the perfect pack based on the players' skill level: stick to 'Easy' for beginners, or challenge large groups with 'Hard' words. Want to spice things up or just can't decide? Hit 'Random'! See word list examples.
