Room Setup FAQ

Will a QR code be generated after creating the room?

Yes! Once you've created and entered the room, simply click the "Invite" icon to display a QR code. Players can scan it to join your game instantly.

Does the system add bots if there aren't enough players?

No. We believe the best experience comes from playing with real people, so we don't use bots. Please adjust your game settings based on the actual number of players joining.

What's the difference between the "Blank" role and the "Imposter"?

A Blank player receives no word at all and must use their acting skills to blend in. An Imposter receives a secret word that is different from the Civilians' word, and must describe it without revealing their identity.

What is the maximum number of "Blank" roles?

There is no strict limit on Blank roles, but the number of Civilians must always be greater than the number of Imposters. Keep in mind that more Blank roles make the game more chaotic—we recommend the Classic mode for beginners.

How does the "Blank" role win?

Our generator currently uses the most popular rules: the Blank (a player who receives no word) wins by surviving until the end. If the team they are associated with (Civilians or Imposters) wins, the Blank player shares the victory. They do not yet have an independent win condition.

How does the role distribution work?

When you adjust the Total Players, our Imposter Game Generator automatically calculates a balanced ratio of Civilians, Imposters, and special roles (like Double Agents). You can manually tweak these numbers, but the default suggestions are optimized for a fair game experience.

When should I use "Hidden Imposters"?

Enabling Hidden Imposters means Imposters won't know who their teammates are. This significantly increases the difficulty for the Imposter team. We recommend using this setting only when you have a large group with 3 or more Imposters to keep the game balanced.

Can I choose specific word categories?

Yes! We offer over 20 categories and 400+ word pairs for you to choose from. You can manually select from word categories (like Food, Jobs, or Places) to tailor the game to your group's preferences.

In "Random" mode, is it one category or a mix of all?

Selecting Random will pull word pairs from all available categories. Alternatively, you can specify one or more categories to narrow down the theme of your game.

Why do I need to enter a nickname?

Your nickname helps other players identify you in the game room. It makes discussions and voting much clearer and more personal than just using "Player 1".

What is the difference between "Player" and "Moderator" modes?

In Player Mode (default), you join the game with a secret role and word. In Moderator Mode, you act as a moderator: you can see everyone's secret words and roles to manage the game flow, but you do not participate as an active player.

Will I get a warning if my game settings are invalid?

Yes! The page provides real-time validation. For example, if the number of Imposters or Blank roles doesn't match the total player count, you'll see a warning message and won't be able to create the room until it's fixed.

What happens if the vote is a tie?

If the vote results in a tie, no one is out in that round! The game continues immediately to the next round of descriptions. This gives the Imposter a lucky second chance to blend in.
