Deception, Deflection, and Deduction
You look at your card. "SPY". Your heart races. Everyone else knows where they are, but you're lost in the dark. Don't panic. Being the Spy is the ultimate test of your improvisation skills. With the right strategy, you can not only survive but manipulate the entire table into trusting you.
📈 Strategy Overview:
When someone asks you a question, your primary goal is to not get caught. You don't need to be clever; you just need to be plausible.
Many locations have variable conditions. Use this to your advantage.
Answer based on feelings rather than facts.
You can't just defend; you need to figure out where you are. Use your questions to extract information without giving yourself away.
Ask about the atmosphere. It's vague enough to be safe but specific enough to get clues.
Identify the most confident player at the table (likely someone who knows the location well). Mimic their energy and tone. If they are complaining, you complain. If they are excited, you are excited.
If you feel heat coming your way, go on the offensive. Accuse someone else of being vague. "Why was your answer so generic? Do you even know where we are?" This forces them to defend themselves and takes the spotlight off you.
Pro Tip: Don't be afraid to guess the location! If you're 80% sure, reveal yourself and guess. It's better than waiting to be voted out.
Now that you know how to lie, learn how to catch a liar:
