Have you ever been in this situation? You are 100% a Civilian. You're watching an Imposter spin a web of lies, and you're getting frantic, but everyone else is completely falling for it. In the end, the Civilians get voted out one by one.
Don't lose hope. It’s not your fault. The truth is, one brilliant Civilian is no match for two coordinated Imposters. That’s why we, the Civilians, have to learn to team up!
Today, I’m sharing two incredibly useful teamwork tactics to help you and your fellow Civilians unite and fight as one.
On a team, not everyone needs to be the "master detective" who can out-argue everyone else. A team is more powerful when everyone plays to their strengths. See which of these roles fits you best:
A simple, quiet question like, "Wait, isn't that the opposite of what you said earlier?" is devastating. Imposters fear players who remember the details.
Say something like: "I think what A, B, and C are saying all lines up, so we can probably trust them for now. But D's story feels out of place. Shouldn't we ask them a few more questions?" You are the person who helps the team focus on what matters.
All you need to say is: "I think their analysis made a lot of sense. Let's not be so quick to vote them out. The Imposters might be trying to eliminate smart players first. Let's all think again." Your support could be what saves the team's best strategist.
See? You don't have to be perfect at everything. Just doing what you do best is the greatest contribution you can make to your team.
This is the ultimate coordinated attack for Imposters and the easiest trap for Civilians to fall into.
It’s when two Imposters work together, quickly locking onto a single Civilian as their target. They then push the narrative until everyone else starts to think, "Yeah, they must be the Imposter!"
It’s simple. Three words: "Slow it down." When everyone is getting worked up, you need to be the one who pumps the brakes.
False Consensus is when two Imposters work together to quickly lock onto a single Civilian target, pushing a narrative until everyone else believes it.
Civilians win by playing to their strengths (e.g., Detail Keeper, Pattern Seeker) and supporting each other. When one Civilian is attacked, others must step in to question the logic.
In this game, the moment you stop thinking "How do I survive?" and start thinking "How do we win together?", congratulations—you've already become a great player.
A victory for the Civilians is never achieved by one person fighting alone. It's won by a group of smart, good-hearted people who are willing to trust each other and fight together.
